Backup/export and restore/import to and from XML or YAML

What happens if something accidentally gets deleted? Or if, heaven forbid, Idea.Informer shuts down for any reason? We loose all the data.

I'd feel safer if I knew I can download my data in a machine-readable format like XML or YAML at any time, and that I can restore that data again.

It would be nice to choose between project and global backups.

Somewhat related to http://useridea.idea.informer.com/proj/?ia=863

Stuck down on 2 votes ? This is the one thing between me and total adoption of this tool right now !

I'd love import, but really export is the first thing I'd want to see, so I can move my data out of the application should idea informer not meet my needs further down the track.

I really hope you consider this idea - even a very basic CSV export ("votes", "username", "idea", "description") would be great, perhaps with ("username", "comment") pairs added on the end of each line to add all the comments in too.

Same here. I want to use as a customer feedback tool, but tracking customer feedback for the long term is very important to our business. I really like what I see, but backup is a problem.

I have hundreds of ideas in our SharePoint tool. Import would make transitioning so much easier. I'm hesitant to do so right now.
